There is a theory called the Six Degrees of Separation that Wikipedia defines as "the idea that everyone is at most six steps away from any other person on Earth, so that a chain of, 'a friend of a friend' statements can be made to connect any two people in six steps or fewer." I never quite believed this until I went to college. In the world of Facebook and "Mutual friends," it has never been easier to recognize who you have in common with who. I rarely encounter a person who I do not have "mutual friends" with. I don't doubt that the college I attend and the boarding high school I graduated include many of the same circle of people and families, but I am shocked by how small the world really is.
The majority of the people I know are from one of the following areas:
New York City, NY
Westchester, NY
Southlake, TX
Greenwich, CT
Greater Boston area
The Bay Area, CA
Miami, FL
